Paul Keetch MP is standing down at the next general election, and the Liberal Democrats have selected Sarah Carr to stand in his place. Sarah was Paul's agent in 1997 when he was first elected. She works tirelessly for the people of Hereford and South Herefordshire and hopes to be able to build upon Paul's record of action both in Parliament and in the constituency.

Local Candidate pledges support for nature: Sarah Carr supports major RSPB Campaign

Hereford & South Herefordshire Prospective Liberal Democrat MP, Sarah Carr, has joined a campaign to protect our natural world by signing the Letter to the Future, a major new campaign run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). The letter calls for better investment in nature by politicians, urging them to consider our natural as well as our financial future when making decisions about how to tackle the country's pressing economic problems.

Sarah Carr pledges her action for children in Herefordshire

Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire has pledged to take action for children to help generations to come. On Thursday 4th March Sarah visited Herefordshire Family Support Services run by Action for Children in partnership with Herefordshire Council. During the visit, Sarah heard about the projects being supported by Action for Children and their work in helping severe deprivation in the county.

Mums' campaign on A49 crossing

Local mums took their campaign for a pedestrian crossing on the A49 at Much Birch to the Much Birch Parish Council last night (4th March). Local mum Sharon Davies is leading a campaign for a pedestrian crossing after a lorry narrowly missed her daughter when the family were crossing the road to get to Much Birch Primary School. Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire attended the Parish Council with Sharon and other concerned residents to show her support and at their request.

Sarah Carr makes pledge to voters on student fees

Ahead of the Hereford Sixth Form Election Special Debate being held on Thursday 4th March, Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for Hereford, Ross and South Herefordshire, has signed a pledge to voters ahead of the forthcoming general election that she will vote against any increase in tuition fees in the next parliament. The National Union of Students (NUS) has launched the Vote for Students campaign to encourage candidates to pledge to protect student interests by opposing attempts to lift the cap on student top-up fees.

Sarah Carr meets with Herefordshire Police Chief to raise front desk concerns

Following public concern that West Mercia Police are planning to close the front desks at Peterchurch and South Wye Police stations, Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for Hereford, Ross and South Herefordshire has met one-to one with Herefordshire's Police Commander to question him on the proposed closures whilst also raising concerns about lack of visible policing in specific areas.
