On Sunday 1st June Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, met with the owners of a working family farm to promote Herefordshire farmers and Open Farm Sunday.

Sarah Carr visited White Haywood Farm in Craswall, Herefordshire where she was given a thorough briefing on challenges facing Herefordshire farmers. The farm owners Philip and Pauline Goodwin also spoke about the environmental schemes they have launched on the farm to help to mix farming and nature and also why they have diversified with their own farm restaurant.

Sarah Carr said,

"Walking through the farm fields seeing lambs and calves on a sunny day is idyllic but the realities of farming are very different - it is hard work. I am giving my full support to 'Farm Sunday' as way for people to discover what it means to be a farmer, to walk on the land that feeds us and overall to help everyone understand the importance and history of farming in Herefordshire."
