In advance of the 27th August list of Herefordshire's post offices facing the chop, Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire and a team of volunteers are upping the campaign to fight the closures.
Sarah and her volunteer team are leafleting streets and villages surrounding post offices in South Herefordshire alerting residents of the upcoming 'consultation'.
"I'm determined to fight the closure of our local post offices. Over 18 months ago Herefordshire Liberal Democrats launched a petition against this latest round of closures in Herefordshire. By leading an all-out delivery alerting residents to the consultation I hope that any post office that appears on the closure hit list on the 27th August will at least have a fighting chance of survival.
"My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I will continue our long-standing campaign to save our post offices across the county, which have been closed under successive Conservative and Labour governments, because we are hugely concerned about the impact of these closures on local people in our towns and villages. Only the Liberal Democrats have fully costed alternative policies to save our post offices and open new post offices where they are needed by local people."
